Contrary to popular belief, digital photo restoration and repair is not about computer magic; it's about art, experience, knowledge, hard work, and, dare I say, love. Working from an original photo or print, we recreate your photo and then transform it back to it's original state. Or, if you prefer, we can manipulate your image until it's something entirely different. Either way, we use state-of-the-art computer software as our tools - our "oil, brush, and canvas" - to perform the task of restoring, enhancing, manipulating, or repairing your cherished photo. In short, there is no computer magic involved, just artistry, using a computer as the artist's tools.
How this service works:
Simply scan the image and email it to us. Once we receive the payment, we will begin restoring your image. After we have finished (usually 3 to 5 days), we will email a proof of the restored image for your approval. And finally, once you have approved the proof, we will email the final, restored image.
How do I get my photos onto my computer?
You must first scan your photos onto your hard drive or CD using a scanner, or transfer pictures from your digital camera to your computer.
If you do not have the ability to scan the photo, you can simply take it to a Kinko's Copy Center and they will help you scan the image to CD. Make sure you tell them to scan it for 8x10 output at 300 dpi (dots per inch) and save it CD at a JPEG, "High" quality setting. RGB, IBM PC Format.
How should I scan the original photo to send to you?
Just scan it at 300 dpi (dots per inch) for 8x10 RGB output. Then save as JPEG, "high" quality setting. You can then email it to us or put it on CD. TIFF files are also acceptable.
What steps do I take to mail the photo to you on a CD?
Just scan your photo and put it on CD and mail us the disk with your specific instructions. We will restore and/or colorize the photo, send a "proof" via email, and finally, once you have approved the image, mail it back to you along with the original CD.
Can you scan the photo for me?
Of course! Just mail us the photo and we'll scan it, restore it, and mail you back the original photo. There is no additional charge for us to scan your photo.
